Hate him or love him, Ashley Cole is the best left-back England has had. He is the one English player that could consistently make the world's best 11 in his position. Despite his off-field problems, and to be honest, most of us have flaws, his on-field performances have been superb.
Cole has recently announced his retirement from international football. He has recently found himself as second choice at Chelsea, but the Cole I know will fight back and when he is on song, there is no better left-back. If he leaves Chelsea, I am sure he will add incredible value to wherever he goes.
